Biography

Steven Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on international relations, with a particular emphasis on the history of Cold War US-Korea relations. He has published a variety of works, including the books 'Outposts of Empire' (1996) and 'Korean War' (2001). He also co-edited the volume 'Transformations in Twentieth Century Korea,' which explores the economic, political, and cultural shifts in Korea during the late nineteenth century. Currently, Professor Lee is working on several book projects, including a volume that focuses on the political and social history of warfare in modern East Asia and a survey of twentieth-century global history. In addition to his research, he teaches courses in Twentieth Century Global History, Twentieth Century Korea, and International Relations among Great Powers.
