Latha Shanker, PhD, is a Professor in Finance at Concordia University. She has previously held positions as a Research Associate at the Centre for the Study of Futures Markets at Columbia University and as the Acting Director of the Concordia International Business Program. Her extensive background includes a faculty position in Finance at McMaster University and work in the computer field at Tata Consultancy Services in Bombay, India, as well as Burroughs Corporation in Detroit. Dr. Shanker has published articles in several prestigious journals including the Journal of Banking & Finance, European Journal of Operational Research, and Journal of Multinational Financial Management, among others. Her current research interests focus on futures, options, and banking risk management, with a teaching emphasis on financial derivatives and risk management.
