Biography

Min Zhou received a PhD from Harvard University. His research interests center on the processes and consequences of global social change, emphasizing the multifaceted nature of international sociology. He studies the structure and evolution of global economic networks through innovative techniques like gravity models and social network analysis. His work has been published in prestigious journals such as Social Networks, Social Forces, and International Sociology. Zhou also investigates patterns of public opinion, identity formation, and organization within the modern global polity, focusing on nationalism, transnationalism, human rights, and environmental issues. Moreover, he examines China's rapid social transformations and their domestic and global implications, including nationalist movements, Sino-Japanese relations, labor markets, and internal migration. His research has been supported by SSHRC grants and has resulted in numerous articles across various scholarly journals.
