Andrew Pelling is an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa. His research focuses on experimental biophysics, particularly in the areas of cell and tissue mechanics. His work employs advanced techniques such as atomic force microscopy as well as fluorescence and laser scanning confocal microscopy to explore the physical properties of biological systems. Through innovative methodologies, Pelling's lab studies the mechanics of cells and tissues, shedding light on their behavior under various conditions which is crucial for understanding biological processes and potential medical applications. He is dedicated to advancing the field of biophysics through rigorous experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
