Biography

Edwin Tam is an Associate Professor and Department Head in the Civil and Environmental Engineering program at the University of Windsor. He completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto and holds both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta. His research focuses on sustainability and resiliency in infrastructure systems, employing circular economy principles and addressing materials end-of-life waste management issues. He has significant experience in life cycle inventory assessment and environmental assessment applications. Tam is an active member of several professional organizations, contributing to advancements in civil engineering and sustainable development. His work includes a variety of publications in reputable journals, emphasizing the integration of functionality, resiliency, and sustainability in stormwater infrastructure and effective management of end-of-life vehicle materials. He actively collaborates with research bodies and industry experts, fostering innovation in environmental engineering practices.
