Jason McDougall is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at Dalhousie University. His research employs an integrative approach to investigate the role of nerves in joint inflammation and pain, particularly in the context of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. His laboratory utilizes animal models and advanced techniques such as electrophysiology and intravital microscopy to study the underlying mechanisms of pain associated with joint diseases. He has an extensive publication record and has received several awards, including the Mayday Pain & Society Fellowship Award and the Arthritis Society Investigator Award. McDougall also serves as an editor for multiple scientific journals and has held leadership positions within various professional organizations related to pain research and inflammation.
