Biography

Hanan Lutfiyya is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Western University. She has held various leadership roles, including serving as Chair of the Department of Computer Science and co-director of the Vector Institute approved collaborative AI program. Lutfiyya's research interests span several domains, including the Internet of Things, software engineering, self-adaptive and self-managing systems, autonomic computing, and mobile systems. She focuses on reliable software systems and investigates collaborative research with industry and government partners. Lutfiyya has developed innovative policy-based approaches for self-managing systems and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Network and Systems Management. Her contributions to the field include significant roles in multiple NSERC committees and being a past Executive Director of the Ontario Consortium Graduate Education Software Engineering program. She actively contributes to the academic community through various editorial roles and panels at international conferences. Her dedication to education and research has been recognized through awards such as the UWO Faculty Scholar Award.
