Jaume Gomis is a faculty member at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, where he focuses his research on nonperturbative dynamics in gauge theories and string theory. He is particularly interested in uncovering the physics and mathematics underlying dualities in these fields, as well as the holographic formulations of quantum gravity. Gomis has held several notable positions, including being an Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario and the University of Waterloo. His academic journey includes a postdoctoral fellowship and a senior research fellowship at the California Institute of Technology, showcasing a robust background in theoretical physics. He has received prestigious awards for his contributions to the field, including the CAP-CRM Prize in Theoretical Mathematical Physics from the Canadian Association of Physicists in 2019, and multiple Early Researcher Awards from the Ministry of Research and Innovation in Ontario. Gomis has published numerous papers in high-energy physics journals and has been actively involved in teaching and supervising PhD students at the Perimeter Institute and associated universities.
