Dr. Jiro Kondo

Biography

Jiro Kondo is an Assistant Professor at the Desautels Faculty of Management, McGill University, where he serves as the Area Coordinator for Finance and the Academic Director of the Investment Management Program. He has a diverse educational background including a PhD in Financial Economics from Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a BA in Economics from Princeton University. His teaching portfolio includes courses in Applied Corporate Finance, Managerial Economics, and Venture Capital Entrepreneurial Finance at McGill, and an Introduction to Finance course in both China and Japan. His research interests lie at the intersection of Corporate Finance, Contract Economics, and Law & Economics, with a focus on agency theory, contract vagueness, and private regulation. Kondo has been recognized for his teaching and research excellence, receiving several awards including the Finalist for Professor of the Year at McGill University and the Faculty Impact Award from Northwestern University. He has published papers in various areas of economics regulation, contract design, and corporate finance, and continues to contribute to the academic community through research projects and scholarly activities.
