Fedya Manin joined the mathematics faculty as an Associate Professor in September 2024. He completed his PhD in 2015 at the University of Chicago under the supervision of Shmuel Weinberger. Following his doctoral studies, he held postdoctoral appointments at the University of Toronto and the Ohio State University. He then served as an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, from 2019 to 2024. Manin's research primarily focuses on the relationship between geometry and topological invariants, employing tools from probability theory and computation. In 2021, he was awarded the Sloan Research Fellowship.
