Javier Giorgi is a Full Professor and Director of the Chemistry Graduate Programs at the University of Ottawa. His research mainly focuses on the chemical processes occurring in solid catalysts at the molecular and atomic level, particularly investigating structure-reactivity relationships. His general approach utilizes a comparison of well-defined model systems with laboratory-prepared real catalysts. His research group employs a variety of surface science techniques along with physical characterization methods to study catalytic reactivity. Currently, his research interests have shifted towards the structure and performance of solid-oxide fuel cell anode materials.
