Paul Wiegert is a Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Western University. His primary research interests involve the dynamics of the Solar System, specifically focusing on smaller bodies such as asteroids and comets, as well as meteoroid streams. He has contributed significantly to the field through his work on exoplanets and celestial mechanics. His research also extends to the observation of transiting hot Jupiters, and he has served on the organizing committee for the International Astronomical Union Commission F2, focusing on Exoplanets and the Solar System.
