Dr. Chong Wang

Professor

Biography

Chong Wang is a faculty member at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics, specializing in quantum matter. His primary research interests include exotic quantum phases of matter that arise in strongly correlated many-body systems, with a particular focus on topological phases, quantum spin liquids, quantum Hall effects, and quantum phase transitions. He has an extensive background in theoretical physics, which is reflected in his publications and teaching. He has served as a Junior Fellow at Harvard University from 2015 to 2018 and has received a Discovery Grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) for the year 2020-2021. Wang has contributed significantly to the field with several recent publications in reputable journals such as Physical Review X and PRX Quantum, exploring topics related to symmetry, topology, and entanglement in quantum systems. He actively participates in conferences and workshops, where he presents his findings and engages with the academic community. Wang is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusivity in the field of physics, welcoming applications from underrepresented groups.
