Biography

The Ringel Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology focuses on the interface of immunology and cancer biology. Our research investigates the crosstalk between CD8+ T cells and their microenvironment at the molecular level, seeking to dissect the biological metabolic programs that are engaged under stress conditions. We employ array approaches to model perturbations in the local microenvironment, revealing intrinsic vulnerabilities of T cells that arise in the tumor niche. Our goal is to understand the disease states that remodel the fundamental mechanisms regulating immune cell function and contribute to pathogenesis. The lab is committed to rigor in science, objective evaluations, and ethical conduct while fostering a collaborative training environment to educate the next generation of scientists and thinkers.
