Alain Royer is an Associate Professor at the Université de Sherbrooke in the Department of Applied Geomatics, Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He obtained his PhD from the same university and has made significant contributions to the field of remote sensing. His research focuses on climate change and its effects on northern environments. He has been involved in numerous funded research projects, including the development of radar data retrieval algorithms and monitoring of extreme climate events in the Arctic. He has held leadership roles including serving as the president of the Association Québécoise de Télédétection.
