Biography

Gordon Hodson is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Psychology at Brock University. He holds a Ph.D. from Western University. His research primarily focuses on intergroup relations, including prejudice, stereotyping, discrimination, and dehumanization. He examines individual differences in ideology and personality, as well as the psychological impacts of immigration, intergroup threat, and intergroup contact. His work further explores intergroup friendships and the emotional responses associated with these interactions, such as disgust, anxiety, and empathy. Additionally, he studies human-animal relations and speciesism. Through his research, Hodson contributes to understanding social dynamics and intergroup conflict.
