Biography

Sonia Anand is a Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and the Director of the Chanchlani Research Centre, which focuses on Health Equity Research. She is also a Senior Scientist at the Population Health Research Institute. Dr. Anand's academic journey commenced at McMaster University, where she received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1992. Following her medical degree, she completed her training in Internal Medicine at McMaster and obtained a Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. Her work primarily revolves around improving health outcomes and understanding health disparities in populations, making significant contributions to the field of epidemiology and global health.
