Alexandre Campeau-Lecours is an associate professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Université Laval, specializing in robotics and rehabilitation engineering. He is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Rehabilitation and Social Integration (Cirris) and the Research Centre in Robotics, Vision, and Machine Intelligence (CeRVIM). Following his doctorate, he worked for three years in the industry at Kinova, where he developed intelligent algorithms for assistance robots used by people with disabilities; these algorithms are now utilized daily by over 800 users in 40 countries. His research program focuses on developing technologies for assisting individuals with disabilities, leveraging emerging technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence, and employing an interdisciplinary co-creation methodology with clinical settings and potential users.
