Michael Rollo is the Head of the Film Department and an Associate Professor in Film Production at the University of Regina. His artistic practice focuses on alternative approaches to non-fiction cinema, emphasizing themes such as vanishing communication cultures, rural industries, transitional spaces, and references of memory, history, and autobiography. He is a founding member of Double Negative, an experimental film collective based in Montreal, and is affiliated with Independent Visions in Regina, Saskatchewan. Rollo's films have been featured in various prestigious festivals and galleries, including the Ann Arbor Film Festival, Atlanta Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and the International Festival Documentary Short Film in Bilbao, among others. His work reflects a deep engagement with documentary materiality and the curation of film experiences, exploring the intersections of art, culture, and community.
