Dr. Hadi Hemmati is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University. Previously, he served as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada, and as an Assistant Professor at the University of Manitoba. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Waterloo and earned his PhD from the University of Oslo, Norway. His primary research interests lie in automated software engineering, with a focus on software testing, debugging, and repair, as well as trustworthy artificial intelligence, emphasizing robustness and explainability. Dr. Hemmati's research is characterized by a strong focus on pragmatic software and machine learning solutions for large-scale systems, where he empirically investigates current practices. He is the principal investigator on multiple industry research projects across domains such as aviation, insurance, urban development, and fintech.
