Benjamin J. Richardson is an international scholar in environmental law with interdisciplinary research interests including philosophy, corporate social responsibility, and Indigenous peoples. He has held academic positions in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and England, notably as a Senior Canada Research Chair at the University of British Columbia. Richardson has also occupied numerous visiting positions, including the Global Law Visiting Chair at Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He is an award-winning author and editor of 13 books, such as 'Art Environmental Law' (Bloomsbury, 2019), 'Time Environmental Law' (Cambridge University Press, 2017), 'Company Law Sustainability' (Cambridge University Press, 2015), and 'Socially Responsible Investment Law' (Oxford University Press, 2008). His active engagement in the academic community includes participation in various professional groups, such as the Australian Panel of Experts on Environmental Law and the Environmental Defender’s Office. Additionally, he is personally committed to environmental stewardship, owning the Blue Mountain View nature sanctuary in Tasmania.
