Jeremy Worth is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the French Studies programs at the University of Windsor, where he has been a faculty member since 2006. He completed his PhD at Western University in 2004 after receiving a doctoral fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Worth teaches courses focusing on French grammar and composition, Modern French Culture, Literary Theory, and various literary movements, including French Enlightenment, Romanticism, Realism, and Surrealism, as well as Special Topics on the literary grotesque. He has been active in recognizing outstanding teaching at the university level, having been nominated for the Student Society Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (SAHSS) Outstanding Professor Humanities Award in 2020. His research interests center on issues of identity and becoming, specifically through the lens of novels and letters, with a notable focus on the works of Émile Zola. Worth has contributed to the academic community as a founder and secretary of the Association canadienne des études francophones du XIXe siècle (ACÉF 19e siècle), and currently serves as Communications Director for the Association Internationale Zola et Naturalisme (AIZEN). He is also a member of the reading committee for Nouvelle Revue Synergies Canada and part of the editorial committee for AIZEN’s journal, Excavatio.
