I am a sociologist and holder of the Canada Research Chair in Childhood, Medicine and Society. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC), I co-hold the UQAC-Cégep de Jonquière Research Chair on the Health and Life of Youth (VISAJ) and am an affiliated researcher at the Intersectoral Centre for Sustainable Health and the University Institute for Youth in Difficulty. After completing my undergraduate studies in psychology, I pursued graduate studies in sociology, specializing in the sociology of education and the sociology of diagnosis. My research examines why and how institutions and the adults surrounding a child interact with each other and with the child to medicalize (or not) their behaviors, emotions, attitudes, and experiences.
