Biography

Catherine Briand is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montreal, specializing in the evaluation of mental health rehabilitation programs. Her research interests focus on advanced psychiatric rehabilitation interventions, specifically cognitive-behavioral approaches applied to psychotic clients. She also investigates the factors that support or hinder the implementation of innovative practices within health organizations. Briand is affiliated with the CR-IUSMM, the research center of the University Institute of Mental Health of Montreal, and has collaborated on various projects enhancing mental health recovery guidelines and practices across Canada. Her research projects include 'Implementing Mental Health Recovery Guideline Services: A Pan Canadian Study' and work on the Recovery College model, among others. Briand's contributions aim to improve rehabilitation practices for individuals with severe mental illnesses, which has included evaluating service models and promoting the dissemination of best practices in Quebec's mental health sector.
