Dr. Peter Pawelek

Professor

Biography

Peter Pawelek is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Concordia University, with a focus on bacterial iron uptake and the molecular mechanisms of bacterial pathogenesis. His research encompasses a range of areas including protein-protein interactions, membrane proteins, biophysical chemistry, and protein chemistry. He employs various techniques such as phage display and X-ray crystallography to explore these subjects. Pawelek holds a PhD from McGill University and is dedicated to advancing knowledge in these critical biochemical fields. He actively teaches advanced courses including Biochemistry II and Advanced Biochemistry Laboratory while contributing to the scientific community through his research efforts and publications.
