Dr. Davy Cheng

Biography

Davy Cheng is a distinguished professor with extensive expertise in anesthesiology and pain medicine. He graduated with a BSc (Hon) in Biochemistry from the University of Ottawa in 1977, and subsequently completed an MSc in Biochemistry at Western University in 1979. Dr. Cheng earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto in 1983, followed by a residency in anesthesia, and has since made significant contributions to the field. He has held numerous academic positions, including Deputy Chief of Anesthesiology at Toronto General Hospital, Medical Director of the Cardiovascular Surgery Program at the University Health Network, and Founding Dean of the School of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Dr. Cheng is also recognized as a Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at Western University. He is a co-founder of the Medical Evidence, Decision Integrity & Clinical Impact Centre and has played a pivotal role in developing global standards for perioperative anesthesia care as a collaborator with the World Health Organization.
