Biography

Rob Hunter is a lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Ivey Business School. With a background as an eccentric entrepreneur, Rob's journey began in his youth selling Japanese professional wrestling VHS tapes and DVDs on eBay, which helped him finance his undergraduate degree. He built a mini student housing empire and opened several Marble Slab ice cream stores before the age of 25. Rob pursued an MBA at Babson College, recognized as the number one school in the world for entrepreneurship. He has since developed and sold HigherMe, an HR Tech solution for the restaurant industry, and partnered with Y Combinator in 2015. Rob has also worked on initiatives to address the student debt crisis with Reset Button / Lexria, a venture-backed fintech company. Currently, he invests in real estate and startups while balancing family time with his three children. He is honored to have received the 2023 David G. Burgoyne Teaching Award and the 2024 MSC Teaching Excellence Award.
