The Brouhard Lab at McGill University focuses on the research of microtubules, which are long, slender polymers made of the protein tubulin. These structures are integral to cellular constructs, forming the backbone of neurons as well as the mitotic spindle, cilia, and flagella. The lab conducts basic scientific research to unravel key molecules that are involved in the formation of the human brain and the core mechanisms that govern how cells construct their cytoskeleton. The lab is situated in the Bellini Life Sciences Complex and comprises an interdisciplinary international team with varied backgrounds in biology, biochemistry, engineering, and physics. It aims to advance understanding in these critical areas and is actively seeking outstanding postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and undergraduates to join their team.
