Dr. Angel F. Carrete Rodriguez is an Associate Professor of Finance at Concordia College. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Florida Atlantic University, an MBA from West Florida University, and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from ITESO. His primary research interest lies in information signaling within financial markets, particularly in the area of information asymmetry. This research addresses how differences in information among market participants can affect trading behaviors, stock price fluctuations, and investment strategies. Dr. Carrete also focuses on understanding the role of institutional investors in these dynamics. Prior to his academic career, he was a research associate at McKinnon Wealth Management from 2014 to 2017, where he conducted stock research and monitored portfolios to ensure they adhered to investment strategies. Dr. Carrete is dedicated to teaching practical financial theory and emphasizes the importance of critical analytical thinking in his classes. He strives to provide students with practical tools while ensuring a strong theoretical foundation. His teaching philosophy prioritizes making the material applicable to students’ lives to maximize retention and understanding.
