Biography

The Interfaculty Bioinformatics Unit at the University of Bern specializes in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies and genomics data science. Team members collaborate closely with researchers on study design, conceptualization, and advanced data analysis. The unit contributes to large-scale interdisciplinary research projects and develops data processing pipelines and tools for data exploration and visualization. It is equipped with state-of-the-art computational infrastructure and access to a comprehensive software repository. The unit also focuses on training the next generation of bioinformaticians through its own research projects, specific courses, and a Master program in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
