Biography

The Institute of Economics and Econometrics leads teaching and research in economics and econometrics within the Geneva School of Economics and Management. The university has a long tradition in economics dating back to the early 1900s, with the Chair of Economics established in 1965 and the Chair of Econometrics following shortly after. The Institute builds on the legacy of internationally recognized faculty engaged in research areas such as labor economics, development economics, environmental economics, international trade, urban economics, and econometrics. It provides students with the opportunity to learn state-of-the-art methods and approaches to solve real-world problems. Faculty members regularly publish in top-ranking economic journals, including the American Economic Review and Econometrica, which enhances the visibility and relevance of the Institute's academic contributions. The Institute also participates in Executive Education programs, such as the 'Business Economics' module.
