Mazi Raz is an Assistant Professor at Ivey Business School, specializing in the Strategy area group. He holds a PhD and an MBA from Ivey. His research and teaching focus on the relationship between ideological trends and managerial thinking, as well as the role of human imagination in organizational life. He teaches courses such as Strategy, Systems Thinking, Advanced Strategic Thinking, Decision Making, and Power & Politics in various programs including HBA, MBA, and MSc Executive Development. Mazi is actively engaged in research exploring 'deep skilling' pedagogies for leaders, emphasizing complexity orientation, foresight, and systems change. His professional experience includes senior roles at Ivey Academy, Sauder Executive Education at the University of British Columbia, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Peter Lougheed Leadership Institute, and visiting positions at the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Mazi has designed and delivered executive education programs for numerous organizations, including 3M, Alberta Health Services, and Marriott International, since 2014. Originally from Persia, he emigrated in 1990 and has lived and worked in Canada, Europe, the Middle East, and the United States prior to entering academia.
