The Chair of Conservation and Landscape Ecology focuses on the relationships between biodiversity and ecosystem functions, influenced by bees, wasps, small mammals, and birds. The research examines interactions such as pollination, herbivory, seed dispersal, and the natural control of insect populations. It studies the effects of environmental factors, including pesticide use, land use changes, and climate change on these natural interactions. Another key focus of our research is on measures to protect biodiversity in agricultural landscapes and forests. We conduct experiments both in the laboratory and in the field, in regional as well as global contexts. Our team is internationally connected, engaged, and full of ideas, dedicated to the scientific quality that resonates with societal relevance.
