Biography

After studying human medicine at Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg and clinical stays at the University of Vienna, Baylor College Houston, and the University of St. Gallen, Martin Canis has been working as a medical and scientific staff member in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at LMU Munich since 2004. He became a senior physician in the department in 2010. His specialties include oncology, reconstructive surgery, and allergies, and he has numerous additional certifications. In 2011, he declined a W2 professorship offer in Munich and moved to Göttingen University Medical Center, where he led clinical focuses and later served as acting director of the Otorhinolaryngology clinic. In 2016, he accepted the directorship at LMU Munich and has authored over 100 publications in esteemed international journals. His research interests include tumor metastasization and immunology, aiming to understand the interaction between tumors and the immune system for better therapy development. He emphasizes collaboration with other disciplines and local practitioners to enhance patient care.
