Prof. Simon Rothenfußer has been the Principal Investigator at the Institute for Clinical Pharmacology since 2006. His research focuses on intracellular immunity, particularly the influence of genetic and non-genetic factors on antiviral immune responses. He has collaborated with various institutes and has worked extensively on the yellow fever vaccine virus YF-17D, aiming to identify predictors for individual immune response strength. His work has led to the development of novel fluorescent assays to test neutralizing antibodies and has explored the mechanisms of antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) in flavivirus infections. In recent years, he has published several high-impact papers on viral immunity and the impacts of vaccination on immune profiles in mild COVID-19 patients. Prof. Rothenfußer’s contributions to immunology and pharmacology are recognized in the academic community through his influential publications and collaborative projects across multiple prestigious institutions.
