Biography

The Department of Architecture and Structural Engineering serves as a bridge between the two disciplines of civil engineering and architecture. Within our courses, we impart theoretical foundations of mechanics and statics to cultivate a basic understanding of structural design. The close linkage with realized projects ensures practical relevance, allowing acquired knowledge to be applied independently in one's own designs. In line with our ethos, structural design should be developed in harmony with architectural design. Through our research endeavors, we aim to actively shape the construction transition, focusing on issues such as how to close material cycles in construction, build with reduced resource consumption and lower emissions, and how to revitalize existing buildings.
