Biography

Dustin Breitenwischer is a Junior Professor of American Studies at the University of Hamburg. His research interests encompass African American and Afro-Atlantic literatures and cultures, focusing on aesthetics, hermeneutics, and pragmatism. He also explores Hip-Hop and popular culture, as well as art and visual cultures of the 20th and 21st centuries. His work contributes to narratology, paratextology, and media aesthetics. He is involved in mentoring a student research group focused on Intersectionality Impact Epistemology Education. Breitenwischer is known for organizing academic meetings and discussions, fostering engagement in scholarly discourse.
