Biography

Simon Trixl, M.A., is engaged in research and teaching at the Institute of Palaeoanatomy and the History of Veterinary Medicine at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. His habilitation focuses on "Animal Husbandry and Cultural Change in Pre-Modern Societies – From Case Study to Model?" His research interests include archaeozoology in the contexts of the Iron Age and Roman Imperial period, particularly focusing on the Alpine regions and animal depositions in Central Europe, North Africa, and Mongolia. Trixl contributes to various projects that explore the historical and cultural significance of livestock and related practices. He is actively involved in courses at the university, sharing his expertise in these specialized areas of study.
