Professor Eva Haverkamp-Rott has held the chair of Medieval Jewish History and Culture at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich since 2009. This position is part of the Department of Jewish History and Culture, focusing on the Middle Ages, making it unique in Germany for studying the history of Jews within a regular history program. Her teaching covers political, social, economic, religious, and cultural aspects of Jewish history from the 4th to the 16th century, highlighting interactions with Christians, pagans, and Muslims across regions from India to Portugal, primarily within the Holy Roman Empire, Italy, France, England, and the Byzantine Empire. By integrating courses on Medieval Jewish History, her work meets the requirements for studying Medieval History, providing comprehensive insights into the relationships between Jews and other religious communities in medieval Europe.
