Biography

Rieke Schröder is a researcher affiliated with Aalborg University, particularly focusing on issues related to queer refugees and intersectional migration studies. She has been involved in various academic projects and has published several papers concerning these topics. Schröder holds a PhD scholarship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and has received multiple awards, including the DAAD scholarship and the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Scholarship. She is active in various conferences, workshops, and talks, working to raise awareness about the complexities faced by LGBTIQ+ refugees. Her work includes a significant project titled 'Mobility Closet: Queer Refugees Transgressing Heterosexual Borderlands', which examines the intersectionality of gender, sexuality, and migration. Schröder is also engaged in peer reviewing and has contributed media coverage about queer asylum issues in Denmark.
