Anya Hageman is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at Queen's University. She received her PhD in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University in 1997. After her studies, she returned to Kingston to raise her young children and began teaching at Queen's University. She has developed and taught various courses, including ECON 223 (Macro Policy), ECON 244 (Economics of Indigenous Communities), and ECON 280 (Population Economic Change). Hageman's research interests focus on Indigenous Economics, the philosophical foundations of economic theory, and microeconomics. She has collaborated with Pauline Galoustian on significant publications touching upon economic aspects affecting Indigenous experiences in Canada. Her teaching and research contributions help illuminate the economic issues faced by Indigenous populations and derive meaningful policies to address them.
