Shreyas Sekar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the University of Toronto Scarborough, with a cross-appointment at the Rotman School of Management in the Operations Management and Statistics area. His research focuses on data-driven decision making in dynamic strategic environments, particularly in the context of digital marketplaces. He employs techniques from diverse fields including optimization, machine learning, revenue management, pricing, and mechanism design to address challenges at the intersection of operations management, online platforms, and data analytics. Prior to his current role, Shreyas was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Harvard Business School’s Laboratory for Innovation Science. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he was awarded the Robert McNaughton Prize for his graduate dissertation in Computer Science.
