Biography

Isabelle Dionne is a recognized expert in exercise physiology, nutrition, and aging, affiliated with the University of Sherbrooke as a Professor. Her research primarily focuses on exercise interventions and their impact on muscle metabolism and physical functioning in older adults. She has extensively studied oxidative stress, sarcopenia, metabolic functions, and the nutritional aspects related to aging. Holding a PhD in Social and Preventive Medicine from Laval University, and having completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of Vermont, Dr. Dionne has carved a niche in understanding how lifestyle habits influence health outcomes. She has served in various academic roles, including Dean and Vice-dean of Graduate Studies at her institution, demonstrating her leadership in academic administration and research. Throughout her career, she has garnered several accolades for her contributions to medicine and health sciences, along with obtaining significant funding for her research projects related to elderly health and exercise. Dr. Dionne remains actively involved in educating future professionals, teaching courses on exercise and nutrition, and contributing to international conferences on gerontology and health science topics.
