Luiz C. Lopes is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University. He completed his Ph.D. at McGill University in 1996. His research primarily focuses on power electronics and renewable energy systems, including areas such as microgrids, nanogrids, hydrogen electrolyzer fuel cells, and energy storage units. Professor Lopes has dedicated his academic career to exploring advanced technologies in energy conversion and management, emphasizing high-power converters and distributed generation. He actively supervises PhD students and contributes to the advancement of knowledge in his field through various projects and collaborations. His work aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of energy systems, which is crucial in today's transition towards renewable energy sources.
