Biography

David Naylor is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Mechatronics Engineering at Toronto Metropolitan University. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science, a Master of Engineering Science, and a PhD, all from the University of Western Ontario. His research expertise includes Convective Heat Transfer, Laser Interferometry, Nanofluids, and Computational Fluid Dynamics. His innovative research utilizes a unique laser interferometer apparatus for optical measurements of heat transfer, contributing to advancements in energy conservation and numerical simulations. Naylor has received notable accolades, including the Engineering Medal for Research and Development from Professional Engineers Ontario in 2014 and is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He has also received the Teaching Excellence Award from the Faculty of Engineering and Architectural Science at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2016. Naylor serves as the editor-in-chief for the International Journal of Mechanical Engineering Education, affirming his commitment to engineering education.
