Edward M. Iacobucci holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Queen's University (1991), a Master of Philosophy from the University of Oxford (1993) as a Rhodes Scholar, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Toronto (1996). He was appointed Dean James M. Tory Professor of Law at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law on January 1, 2015. He has been part of the Faculty of Law since 1998, previously holding the Osler Chair in Business Law and serving as Associate Dean of Research. Iacobucci has held visiting professorships at prestigious institutions such as Tsinghua University, New York University, and the University of Chicago. His research interests focus on corporate law, competition law, and the intersection of law with economics. Notably, he received the Doug Purvis Prize for his work on Canadian economic policy in 2002-2003 and the Mewett Award for excellence in teaching at the University of Toronto in 2000. Additionally, he was awarded the Angus MacMurchy Gold Medal for achieving the highest cumulative average upon graduation from the Faculty of Law in 1996. Iacobucci's contributions to the field and his commitment to legal education have made him a distinguished figure in law and economics.
