Biography

Helen Kurki is a biological anthropologist whose research focuses on morphological variation in recent humans and the evolutionary, cultural, and developmental mechanisms that produce this variation. Her main research approach involves the analysis of functional anatomy and skeletal biology in humans, employing traditional osteological methods as well as 3D modeling of the skeleton. Her interests include biological anthropology, skeletal biology, and hominin functional anatomy, particularly regarding skeletal growth and development. Dr. Kurki has published several significant works that explore various aspects of human evolutionary biology and morphology, contributing to the understanding of adaptive processes in human evolution.
