Biography

Kelci Harris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria. She holds a PhD from Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focuses on social psychology, particularly in the areas of friendship, personality, and intergroup relations. Harris's work explores the complexities of friendships and their impact on well-being at various stages of life. Her research is driven by a combination of questions regarding how friendships affect individuals' emotions and behaviors, as well as what friendships look like across different contexts. To answer these questions, she collects rich, multi-method data sets and fosters collaborations, utilizing a variety of methods including statistical techniques, experience sampling, multilevel modeling, and longitudinal surveys. Her studies often incorporate latent growth curve modeling to address the intricacies of friendship dynamics and their significance in psychological research.
