Danu Anthony Stinson is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Victoria. He holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo and specializes in social psychology, focusing on interpersonal relationships and self-evaluation. His research explores how individuals assess their social worth, form new relationships, cope with self-threats like rejection, and unlearn internalized stigma. Throughout his academic career, Stinson has engaged with students and collaborators to investigate significant social-psychological questions regarding self-esteem, self-concept, and identity, and how these aspects of self influence individuals’ close relationships and the communities to which they belong.
