As an immigrant to Canada, Aude-Claire Fourot is deeply interested in the impact of public policies on immigration resettlement. She works with local communities to explore settlement issues stemming from ethnic and religious diversity and their influence on local public policy. Aude-Claire moved to Canada in 2000, completing her MA in political science at Laval University and earning her PhD at the University of Montreal. She has held postdoctoral research positions funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council at Sciences Po Paris and MIT before joining Simon Fraser University's Department of Political Science in 2011. Currently, she holds a SSHRC grant to compare refugee resettlement in Canadian and French cities and to investigate how local governance shapes resettlement outcomes. Aude-Claire spent the 2019-2020 academic year in France as a Collegium Fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study to complete her research. Her publications cover various aspects of immigration and public policy, including collaborative works on the roles of cities in the Canadian political science landscape and specific studies on immigration services in Canada.
